Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Suffers Serious Burns in Accident

DJ Sid Wilson of Slipknot was admitted to the hospital on Friday, August 23, following an incident in which he

“sustained burns across his body.” “I had an explosion in my face,” Wilson said to fans in an erratic Instagram video

showing himself receiving medical attention.

Wilson promised to carry on travelling with Slipknot even if the burns were quite bad. The band just finished the

first part of their 25-year anniversary tour of North America, which honoured the release of their self-titled record.

festival, and they will begin the second leg of the tour on September 7th in Auburn, Washington.

Wilson can be heard saying, “Hey everyone, I had an explosion in my face,” on the footage. Though my face and arms

did get some severe burns, I’m well and will recover. I’m burned all over. Brows are furrowed. My lips have blisters.

My arms hurt a lot. My two arms together.

Kelly Osbourne, his partner, posted a video of herself in the hospital to her Instagram stories with the caption, “This

is why you don’t fuck with burn piles.” He basically set himself on fire and exploded everything.”

Sidney is the name of Osbourne and Wilson’s infant son. Both Wilson’s and Kelly’s videos feature the infant, which

Wilson records off-camera. Wilson responds, “I cut my finger off,” when asked when he last received a tetanus shot.

He and Osbourne later ascertain that this past Christmas or New Year’s Eve was within that time frame.

“Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body,” says a statement issued by

Slipknot. He will still be performing with us at Rocklahoma the following weekend while he recovers with his family.

He appreciates all of the kind words and says he will talk to you all shortly.

Later, Osbourne posted a video showing Wilson in his hospital bed with his arms completely wrapped on one side,

and their son playing with toys on the hospital floor on the other.

Wilson also uploaded a second video on social media, stating that he was being taken to a burn unit for additional treatment and to have his head shaved. Additionally, he reassured supporters time and time again that everything would be alright.

Several of Wilson’s other musicians contacted him in the comments section of his debut video. Brian “Head” Welch, the guitarist for Korn, remarked on Twitter, “I love you @sidthe3rd, what the heck exploded, be cautious, crazy dude! I’m so happy you’re alright.
