The transfer of 19-year-old defender Ethan Amundsen-Day to Aston Villa has been confirmed.
The young Norwegian international leaves FC Copenhagen to join Villa for an unknown sum. Amundsen-Day began his career at Fredrikstad FK in Norway and has played for the Danish powerhouses for the past three seasons.
The teenager was born in Leeds, England, to a Norwegian mother and an English father. With this transfer, he is going back to his homeland. In 50 games for the Under-19 team, Amundsen-Day shown his versatility as a left- and center-back.
The academy manager for Villa, Mark Harrison, stated: “We are thrilled that Ethan is joining us. He is an extremely proficient player technically and with a fantastic mentality.
“We look forward to working with him over the next few seasons as he will add more depth to our squads in preparation for the different competitions we will compete in at the Under-21 level.”
Villa and Everton are now in advanced negotiations regarding the midfielder Tim Iroegbunam’s sale. The 20-year-old played in nine Premier League games for Villa last year.
