Former MLB Infielder Mike Brumley Dies in Car Crash at Age 61

According to ABC News, former MLB infielder Mike Brumley passed away on Saturday night at the age of 61 in an automobile accident in Mississippi.

In his major league career, Brumley was a member of the Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astors, Oakland Athletics, and Houston Astros. He played in the major leagues from 1987 to 1995. He also worked as a hitting teacher and coach for the Mariners, Cubs, Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and most recently, the Atlanta Braves from 2018 to 2022, when he was employed as a minor league coach and hitting instructor.

Austin Riley, a third baseman for the Braves, called Brumley one of the most important individuals in his life.
