On Monday, July 1, Derby County will host a medical examination for Swansea City striker Jerry Yates, sources have informed Football Insider.
The 27-year-old has consented to sign a loan with the recently promoted Rams.
Yates is expected to join Derby for the third time this summer transfer window, following the free agent additions of Ben Osborn and Corey Blackett-Taylor.
The Swansea star, who reportedly paid over £2.5 million to join the Welsh team, just moved there in the summer of 2023.
However, he is already moving towards the departure, loaning himself to Derby.
In the 2023–24 season, Yates made 46 appearances in all competitions, 26 of which were as a starting lineup member.
Yates, a Swansea player, is having a Derby medical before heading on loan.
In those games, he only managed nine goals and one assist.
Yates is a skilled operator at the Championship level who is bound to Wales until June 2026.
With stints at Rotherham, Swansea, and Blackpool, the 27-year-old has made 152 appearances in the second division and scored 31 goals.
In 2020–21, he scored 20 league goals for Blackpool, which was his most productive season. He has also participated in League One and League Two.
Under Paul Warne, Derby placed second in the third division the previous season to earn a trip back to the Championship.
