Due to a fracture in his left middle finger, outfielder Cody Bellinger of the Chicago Cubs has been placed on the 10-day injured list.
In the seventh inning of the team’s 4-0 victory over the Orioles on Wednesday night, Bellinger was hit by a pitch from Cionel Pérez. He continued to play the game at first, but he had to leave soon after.
How long Bellinger will be sidelined is unknown.
Manager Craig Counsell stated on Thursday that “he won’t be doing much until after the All-Star break, and then we’ll start rehabbing the finger’s range of motion.” “We’ll observe the outcome.”
Bellinger has nine home runs, 37 RBIs, and a batting average of.269.
The Cubs, who entered Thursday’s series finale against Baltimore having won five of their previous six games, are severely hurt by Bellinger’s loss.

Chicago has called up outfielder Alexander Canario from Triple-A Iowa to take Bellinger’s place on the roster. Canario has participated in 13 Cubs games so far this year.
