walking four. With the Dodgers this season, the 35-year-old left-hander went 8-2 with a 4.43 ERA in 18

According to Cora, Paxton will be added to the rotation. Bryan Mata, a right-handed pitcher, was placed
on the 60-day injured list by the Red Sox to free up space on the 40-man roster.
Paxton is “a guy with a proven track record on this team, this division,” Boston Chief Baseball Officer
Craig Breslow said. “Left-handed, met a lot of our requirements. We believed that having starting
pitching was crucial for us going into this trade deadline stretch. It is fantastic that we were able to do
something quickly since it gives us more time to consider additional ways to better the club.
