The Los Angeles Rams have revealed who will be their Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellows for the 2024 training camp. The fellowship is an extension of the team’s endeavors to fortify the NFL’s heterogeneous talent pool and offers seasoned coaches from various backgrounds practical experience. The Rams have been mentoring coaching fellows during Training Camp and Organized Team Activities (OTAs) for the past two years in a row.
The fellowship for this year’s Training Camp officially started on Wednesday, July 24th, and will run until Saturday, August 3rd, when Training Camp concludes.
The fellowship has the name of the late Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach, who recruited a group of minority coaches to the San Francisco 49ers’ roster in 1987, so introducing the idea to the NFL.

The fellowship is intended to introduce fellows to the practices and mindsets of an NFL coaching staff while serving as a vocational tool to expand the number of full-time minority NFL coaches in the league. The program’s goals are to give gifted coaches the chance to watch, take part, and acquire NFL coaching experience.

Inside linebacker Deion Harris
Jackson Douglas, a former NFL player, will help the offensive line while he is with the Rams. He played for the Tennessee Titans (2019–20), the Miami Dolphins (2015–16), and the Washington Commanders (2021) for one season each. Douglas participated in four postseason games and 50 lifetime regular season games (11 starts) throughout his NFL career. The Dolphins selected him 114th overall in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Earlier this year during OTAs, Douglas served as a coaching fellow for the Rams as well.
During training camp, DAMION SQUARE will support the defensive line. Square played during eight NFL seasons, with stints with the Cincinnati Bengals (2021), Las Vegas Raiders (2021), Los Angeles Chargers (2015–20), and Philadelphia Eagles (2013). In 100 games during the regular season, he made an appearance and finished with 129 tackles (73 solo), 7.0 sacks, two recovered fumbles, 11 tackles for loss, and nine passes defensed. Square participated in five playoff games as well.
Whilst playing for the Bengals, Eagles, and Chargers, he recorded seven tackles (five solo). Square attended Alabama to play collegiately.
During his fellowship with the Rams, SATYEN BHAKTA, the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach at Cornell University, will assist the outside linebackers. Bhakta has been at Cornell since 2013 and has worked with the Eagles, Raiders, Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Kansas City Chiefs as a Bill Walsh Minority NFL Coaching Fellow. In addition, he played collegiately at Temple University (2001–04), Susquehanna University (2009–10), and Colorado School of Mines (2011–12) as an assistant coach.
DEION HARRIS, who is now the linebackers coach for the UFL’s DC Defenders, will help with the inside linebackers throughout Training Camp. 2023 saw him spend serving as the Defenders’ assistant defensive line coach and coach of quality control during that period. Harris played as a player and graduate assistant at Virginia State University before beginning his career as a professional coach. Harris made 38 tackles (27 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, and one fumble recovery while playing for VSU from 2016 to 2019.
