West Ham United have agreed to recruit a dynamic new attacker, with a breakthrough occurring in the previous 24 hours, according to Fabrizio Romano.
West Ham are working on further signings, with three already in place.
The Hammers and technical director Tim Steidten have been working hard behind the scenes in preparation for Julen Lopetegui’s first season in command, and Steidten has delivered on his promise of a busy summer in the market.
“I can’t give you specifics, but we’ll have a busy summer for sure. The owner and board have done an excellent job in recent years, so we’re in fantastic financial health. We’re aiming to bolster the squad. We are not confining ourselves to a single position; we are looking at all options.”
So far, the Irons have signed winger Luis Guilherme, seasoned custodian Wes Foderingham, and centre-back Max Kilman, and at least three more players might come before the Premier League season begins later this month against Aston Villa.
According to recent reports, a new right-back and centre-forward, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Niclas Fullkrug, could be arriving at the London Stadium soon. The Hammers are understood to be in advanced talks with both Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund for Wan-Bissaka and Fullkrug’s services, but West Ham have now gone one step further and agreed to acquire another attacking player.
West Ham have agreed on a Summerville agreement.
According to Romano, Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville will soon join West Ham, after the two clubs agreed on a £25 million trade with add-ons. The Dutch winger has already spoken with Lopetegui and agreed to a long-term contract with the Hammers.
He has now added that a physical has been scheduled on Thursday, after which Summerville will fly out to the United States to join the rest of the club on the pre-season tour.
Summerville, dubbed “unstoppable” by Statman Dave in 2022, had a fantastic Championship campaign with the Whites last season, scoring 20 goals and contributing nine assists in 46 games under Daniel Farke.
He was nominated Championship Player of the Year as a result, and Farke praised him in October for his match-winning performance against Norwich. “Crysencio’s a baller. It’s heartwarming to witness a guy touch the ball like this. We want him to increase his effectiveness.Goals and assistance are required, as well as final products. The next stage of his career. Delivers like this, he’s on the right track.”
Now, it appears like he will compete with Jarrod Bowen, Guilherme, and possibly Mohammed Kudus for a wide position under Lopetegui.
