Breaking: NASCAR talented driver was arrested for reckless driving and sentenced to jail, his driving license revoked for 30 days…

Kurt Busch, a retired NASCAR Cup champion, was arrested on Monday just before midnight in Iredell County, North Carolina. The 34-time race champion was initially pulled over for speeding, allegedly going 63 mph in a 45 zone. During the traffic check, Busch was breathalysed and revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.17 percent, more than double North Carolina’s 0.08 percent standard. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and dangerous driving, spent three hours in jail, and his licence was suspended for 30 days.

Busch has promised in writing that he will appear in court in September.

NASCAR champion Kurt Busch charged with DWI and dangerous driving.

Busch, who won the 2004 Nextel NASCAR Cup Series championship and the 2017 Daytona 500, raced for Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota throughout his career, working with high-profile teams such as Penske, Roush, Furniture Row, Chip Ganassi, and Stewart-Haas before retiring in 2022 following a career-ending crash at Pocono Raceway. He was racing for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s 23XI squad when he crashed. He continues to represent the squad as an ambassador.

Outside of NASCAR, Busch competed in other types of motorsport, finishing third with Penske at the Daytona 24 in 2008 and sixth with Andretti Autosport at the Indianapolis 500 in 2014.

NASCAR Champ Kurt Busch Arrested For Drunk Driving

This is not the first time Busch has faced legal action. In early 2015, Busch’s ex girlfriend accused him of domestic violence. Busch is accused of bashing the woman’s head into a wall, and as a result, he was suspended indefinitely from NASCAR and forced to miss the first three races of the season. When no criminal charges were filed, NASCAR reinstated Busch’s eligibility, and his team welcomed him back into the series. A Delaware judge determined that he “likely” assaulted his ex.

Busch has not made any public statements regarding his arrest. It’s tough to pinpoint exactly how much money Busch has, but he’s clearly a multi-millionaire. He might have phoned an Uber to pick him up from wherever he was and drive him home. This was a very foolish call from a man who has every resource at his disposal to avoid a situation like this. Alcohol and driving do not mix.
