Soler Making Braves Trade Re-Acquisition Look Stellar
Jorge Soler, a slugger, is playing as well as the Atlanta Braves had hoped when they acquired him before
of the deadline.
The Atlanta Braves are beginning to play more cohesively, particularly on offense. After being shut out in
consecutive games on August 5 and 6, the Braves have scored 5.7 runs per game on average since then.
Jorge Soler, an outfielder, has found his footing in the Braves lineup thanks to this offensive explosion.
After Soler returned to the team, his first few games would have made many wonder if the transfer was
worthwhile. In his first 13 plate appearances, he had just one hit and two walks (slash
line:.091/.231/.091). He also had five strikeouts.
When a squad is in dire need of reinforcements and offensive support
appears worse, giving the impression of gloom. However, since making his debut, Soler has become the
player the Braves had hoped he would be when they acquired him. Over the course of eight games and
35 plate appearances, he had a 1.348 OPS, four home runs, and ten RBIs while batting.379. His strikeout
percentage has decreased to 22% during that time, indicating an improvement in his discipline.
Although it is still not perfect, the overall outcomes are still favorable.
Of those eight games, Soler had three multi-hit games and seven hits.
