The Kansas City Chiefs are considering a blockbuster trade for a two-time Pro Bowl player to help win another Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly pondering a bombshell deal that would remove them from their position as the NFL’s top club, following their two straight Super Bowl titles.

A potential deal involving the Cleveland Browns might bring in two-time Pro Bowler Jack Conklin to the Chiefs, strengthening an already potent offence and raising the possibility of an unprecedented three-peat in the Super Bowl.

Despite the Chiefs offence not living up to its usual explosive standards in 2023, Patrick Mahomes and team saved their best for the most crucial circumstances. They won the title twice in a row after defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58.

However, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach isn’t happy with the status quo. The Chiefs grabbed Texas Longhorns speedster Xavier Worthy with their first-round choice this summer in order to add to quarterback Mahomes’ toolset. They also added wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.

Bolstering the attacking front

Despite these additions, there is still one glaring issue: the tackle position. The departure of Donovan Smith and the inconsistent play of Jawaan Taylor have left Kansas City’s offensive line vulnerable. In this case, the trade proposal is pertinent.

Jack Conklin from the Cleveland Browns could be acquired by the Chiefs to address this weakness, according to tackle Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report. In exchange, Kansas City would provide Cleveland third- and fifth-round draft picks in 2025.

Late in 2022, Conklin, a right tackle who has appeared in two Pro Bowls, signed a four-year, $60 million contract extension with the Browns. However, an injury sustained last season made place for youngster Dawand Jones, who filled in excellently for Conklin.
