Billy Gee, a teenage player in the Chelsea Academy, decided to quit the team permanently and join Norwich City on Transfer Deadline Day. The 19-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Canaries, although he still had one year left on his original professional contract with Chelsea. The conditions of the transfer were not made public, however it is unlikely that there will be a charge greater than a nominal sum, with the possibility of future compensation (sell-ons or add-ons) included.
born in South London As he advanced through the levels, Gee played in both central defence and midfield for the Chelsea Academy, having joined at the U8 level. He has received England U19 caps, and in the League Cup final of the previous year, he was called up to the first team for a bench appearance.
Following their sixth-place finish and participation in the promotion playoffs, Norwich City had a dismal start to the new campaign, going winless in their first three league games and losing in the League Cup.
Billy Gee might not make the first team right away, but maybe he can make an impression and raise a stir soon.
