BREAKING: Vikings urged to sign Buccaneers star as as news about Justin Jefferson’s injury shocks everyone.

Vikings Urged to Sign 2,500-Yard WR After Jefferson, Addison Injuries

By the time the Minnesota Vikings defeated the San Francisco 49ers 23–17, they had lost three of their best pass catchers, which prompted calls for veteran wide receiver Russell Gage to be signed by the team.

After the Vikings’ Week 2 victory over the 49ers disproved many naysayers and saw Minnesota go 2-0 for the first time since 2016, Bleacher Report urged the team to sign Gage to solve their most pressing need.

But to keep that winning pace, the Vikings may need reinforcements at wide receiver.

A quad contusion forced Justin Jefferson to leave the game on Sunday during the fourth quarter. Due to an ankle injury sustained in Week 1, Jordan Addison was unable to play; tight end T.J. Hockenson is on injured reserve while he recovers from knee surgery earlier this year.

According to the Bleacher Report report, “having a five-year veteran like Gage, who has nearly 250 career catches for 2,500 yards and 14 touchdowns, on hand wouldn’t be a bad idea,” suggesting a signing to the practice squad or the active roster.

Before Jefferson was injured on Sunday, third-year wide out Jalen Nailor filled in for Addison. Trent Sherfield and Brandon Powell alternated as the other wide receivers.

Trishton Jackson played five snaps on Sunday but has caught just two passes in his career.

Signing Gage to a veteran minimum contract couldn’t hurt.
