Novak Djokovic, the newly crowned Olympic champion, recently made it clear that he has no plans to
retire in the near future. Following his victory in Paris, where he finally secured gold after four previous
attempts, Djokovic expressed his determination to defend his title at the upcoming Los Angeles Games
in 2028. This win marked a significant achievement in his illustrious career, as he became one of only
five players in tennis history to complete the elusive Golden Slam by winning all four Grand Slam
tournaments and the Olympic gold medal in singles.
At 37, Djokovic remains motivated and eager for further accomplishments, aiming to become the first
player to participate in six Olympic singles events. During a celebratory event in Belgrade, he conveyed
his excitement about representing Serbia on such a prestigious platform. He reflected on the immense
pressure he felt to win gold, given his already impressive list of accomplishments. “For me, this is the
realization of a boyhood dream,” he shared, emphasizing how fulfilling this victory has been for him.
