Ohio State Not Concerned After Michael Hall Leaves Win Over Arkansas State With Injury

Redshirt freshman defensive tackle Michael Hall carried over his strong performance from the season-opening victory over Notre Dame into Saturday’s contest against Arkansas State.

Hall had logged three stops, including a team-high three tackles for loss and one sack, but halfway through the third quarter, he sustained an upper body injury while rushing the passer.

Trainers scrambled to check on him while he stayed face down on the turf, but he managed to get off the pitch on his own and was assessed on the sidelines.

Trainers asked Hall to take off his jersey and pads so they could examine his left shoulder, so he never went to the medical tent. After that, he watched the rest of the game from the bench, with the Buckeyes winning 38–9 at the time.

Head coach Ryan Day stated, “We don’t expect him to miss any time for it.” “We’ll see after we get an assessment on him after the game, but nothing indicated that it would be a long-term issue.”

This season, Hall has racked up seven tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and one quarterback hurry through little over six quarters of action. Although his injury may have been a major setback for an otherwise unpressurised defensive interior, it looks like he will be back for the Buckeyes’ game against Toledo the following weekend.

“It’s good that he did it again this week,” Day stated. “That represents progress.”
