Breaking: Slipknot’s 2024 KNOTFEST IOWA performance suspended due to severe…

SLIPKNOT was forced to cut its set short last night (Saturday, September 21) at the band’s Knotfest Iowa festival due

to “severe weather” circumstances.

Originally slated to hit the stage at 9 p.m., the Iowa-based nine-piece performed one hour earlier than planned as the

set times for each artist were “adjusted for the best possible experience.”

Doors opened at 11 a.m., and at 11:30 a.m., the first band, HOLY WARS, took the main stage.

In the early evening, organizers announced about modifications to the set times on social media, writing: “Attention:

Due to the possibility of oncoming severe weather, set times have been modified to accommodate all acts for the

greatest possible experience. DYING WISH – Till Lindemann, 6 p.m; GWAR – 7pm; SLIPKNOT – 8pm”.

After SLIPKNOT managed to play an 11-song set that lasted for less than an hour, the concert was called off about

three hours later. The organisers posted on social media, stating, “Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating, and

it is time to pull the plug.” Please drive home carefully and slowly after leaving the park. We appreciate you coming

to Knotfest Iowa.”

This year’s Knotfest Iowa, which had two stages and thirteen acts, was anticipated to draw close to 20,000

spectators.

The cost of a general admission ticket was $125 per person; four-packs were offered for $299.

Visitors to Knotfest Iowa had the opportunity to explore the Slipknot Museum, a mobile immersive exhibition that

showcased the band’s past. Tickets were $25 through September 20 or $40 on September 21. Fans who purchased

tickets may see instruments, memorabilia, and more on exhibit.

About 30,000 people attended the 2021 Knotfest Iowa, which was hosted at the Balloon Classic Field in Indianola.

We Are Iowa reports that the event was marred by long lines and unaccessible water.

Next up for SLIPKNOT is a September 26 performance at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, and

an October 11 appearance at Aftershock in Sacramento, California.
