Southampton has apparently received a much-needed lift after a challenging start to their Premier League comeback as they plan a third effort to recruit a forward who wants to go to England’s top division.

Southampton transfer news

The Saints had a successful summer transfer window on paper. They brought in veteran player Adam Lallana, permanently reunited Russell Martin with Flynn Downes, and made waves when they signed Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal. Their one point came against fellow promoted team Ipswich Town last time out, so those reinforcements haven’t paid off yet.

Tyler Dibling, a young winger who made an impression against Manchester United and then scored against Ipswich to once again steal the show, has been the one bright spot for the Saints.

But if Martin’s Southampton team is to escape Premier League relegation for the first time since last season’s promotion, Dibling, who is only eighteen, needs support in the attack. And it appears that the Saints are fully cognizant of that.

Southampton, who are preparing a third attempt to recruit the teenage striker, is greatly encouraged by the news that Corinthians are now willing to allow Yuri Alberto go in January for the proper price, as reported by Trivela via Sport Witness.

After supposedly trying to recruit Alberto in January of last year and making a loan offer of €3 million (£2.5 million) with a buyout option of €20 million (£17 million), St. Mary’s supporters will be hoping for third time luck.

The Brazilian team is apparently open to selling Alberto now that they have welcomed players like Memphis Depay. Previously, Corinthians reportedly refused such a decent offer for their attacker because they lacked the time to locate a successor.
