Brendan Rodgers responds to Tottenham transfer ‘interest’ in Celtic stars

A spectacular transfer to Tottenham Hotspur is supporting former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. After Antonio

Conte departed the Spurs by mutual consent last week, the managerial turnover is still happening, and the Irishman

is reportedly being considered for the position.

Ally McCoist and Stuart Pearce of Talksport believe that Aaron Rodgers would be the ideal choice for Daniel Levy as

he wants to rebuild after a top manager left the North London team.

Although praising Rodgers’ record, the former Rangers striker claimed that this season has been exceptional for the

former Liverpool manager.

“I believe Brendan would perform admirably. You look at Brendan’s record, and it’s amazing, excluding this season.

He’s been excellent.

In the meantime, Pearce declared that if Leicester were demoted, he would even hire Rodgers.

“Based on my continuous observations of Brendan over an extended period of time, if I were a chairman and I took

him in isolation, I would hire him right away. If I were another Premier League club, I would be waiting to see if he

fell off the job before bringing him to my club.

Remember that he came so close to winning the championship with Liverpool. He’s won championships north of the

border and has consistently played excellent football. I believe he meets a lot of requirements.

For two and a half years, Rodgers led the Celtics. Before leaving for Leicester in February 2019, the former manager

of Liverpool amassed seven titles in a row, an Invincible Treble, a 69-game winning streak, and countless more

accomplishments. Neil Lennon took over for the manager.

Fans will probably acknowledge how fantastic Rodgers’ tenure with the team was. A lot of people recognised that his

departure was the result of problems at the boardroom level, which the off-field chaos of the 2020–21 season served

to highlight.

Although the manager has shown himself to be a valuable coach, he also has a whiny side. There are similarities

between his departure from Celtic and Liverpool and his time at Leicester. Despite his success with Leicester, where

he won an FA Cup and finished fifth twice, Rodgers will probably never be able to equal the intensity of the Celtic job

anywhere he goes.

It will be intriguing to watch whether Rodgers is pursued by Spurs and if Leicester City is able to emerge victorious

from this relegation struggle.
