Breaking news: SABATON are excited to welcome a gifted singer to their band after…

SABATON Announces Return Of Guitarist THOBBE ENGLUND

Thobbe Englund, a guitarist for SABATON, has returned to the Swedish metal band. Following Tommy Johansson’s

announcement of his leaving less than a month ago, this news is highly anticipated.

Thobbe joined SABATON in April 2012 and left the group amicably in July 2016 to pursue his creative goals and

concentrate on his personal life. He’s back and prepared to take the world stage once more, eight years later.

Together with SABATON, Englund recorded two studio albums, “Heroes” (2014) and “The Last Stand” (2016). He

also contributed to the songwriting of several highly successful hits, such as “Shiroyama” and “Fields Of Verdun”

“Words can’t express how ready and how excited I am to jump back into SABATON,” says Englund upon his quick

return. It seems as though I was on a quick vacation. The best is still to come, the timing is perfect, and love is in the

air!

“This is a full-circle moment for SABATON and we are beyond excited to have Thobbe rejoin the band,” says Pär

Sundström, bassist and band manager of SABATON. We have a great time with this nice person who is also a gifted

musician and songwriter. It was not even necessary for us to have auditions with other guitarists. To know that

Thobbe’s homecoming was appropriate, all they had to do was spend New Year’s Eve together.”

Joakim Brodén, the leader of SABATON, agrees with Pär, saying, “This was an obvious choice for Thobbe and for the

band as a whole. He is the ideal fit and knows the ropes. We believe that everyone will be really excited by the news,

as this is a fantastic result! Now is the ideal moment. Greetings from your new location, brother!”

Hannes Van Dahl, the drummer for SABATON, continues, saying, “Who? Who’s that? Thobbe f***ng Englund! It’s

the dude again! I’m excited to take the stage alongside one of my closest friends once more! Greetings from your new

location, brother!”

Finally, Chris Rörland, a guitarist with SABATON, adds, “I’m ecstatic about the king’s comeback! Together, we’ve

experienced a tonne of fun, both on and off stage. Sharing the stage once more will be amazing. Greetings from home

and welcome back, dear brother! I adore you!”
