Leeds midfielder Gruev sidelined with knee injury
Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev has suffered a “significant injury to his meniscus” in his right knee.
In the twentieth minute of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Norwich City, the Bulgarian international had to leave the game.
The team said that he would have surgery in the next few days and that it is anticipated he will miss several months of time.
Following captain Ethan Ampadu’s 10-week absence due to a ligament damage, Gruev is the second Leeds midfield player to be ruled out this week due to a knee ailment.
