Dave Matthews Band Has “So Much To Say” With Announcement of US Summer Tour and Nature Conservancy Collaboration.
The Dave Matthews Band (DMB) has revealed plans for a lengthy summer tour across North America. The journey
begins on May 11 at The University of Texas, Austin’s brand-new Moody Centre and ends on September 19 and 20
with two nights at the renowned Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Throughout the tour schedule, there are a lot of
two-night stands.
The band, coming from Charlottesville, have planted over 2 million trees through their relationship with the Nature
Conservancy. The band has committed to planting another million in 2022. The “Plant A Billion Trees” campaign by
the Nature Conservancy aims to restore forests worldwide by planting one billion trees. By contributing an optional
$2 payment each ticket to plant a tree, supporters can further that goal for this tour. In addition to the tree effort,
DMB and REVERB will once more collaborate to create a Climate Positive Tour that will offset carbon emissions
from band and fan travel.
Since their initial performances in 1991, DMB has worked to lessen their environmental impact by putting strategies
in place to offset the carbon emissions of their tours. Tour partners DocuSign and Dreaming Trees Wine have also
contributed to the cause.
Over 25 million tickets and 38 million CDs and DVDs have been sold by DMB since its founding. Having seven
consecutive studio albums debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart makes DMB the only group in history to do it.
Throughout the forthcoming tour, fans can listen in to DMB Radio’s “Friday Night Concert Series,” which features
weekly live broadcasts from all around the nation on the band’s SiriusXM channel (Ch. 30).
