Grateful Dead Former Band Members Set to Reunite for Tribute Tour

In a move that is sure to delight fans of the Grateful Dead, former band members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and John Mayer have announced that they will be reuniting for a tribute tour to celebrate the music and legacy of the iconic rock band.

The tour, which is set to kick off on July 1, 2025, will feature the trio performing a mix of Grateful Dead classics and new material, with a focus on paying tribute to the band’s late members, including Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, and Ron “Pigpen” McKernan.

“We’re thrilled to be getting back together to celebrate the music and legacy of the Grateful Dead,” said Bob Weir in a statement. “We’re going to play all the classic songs that fans love, as well as some new material that we’ve been working on. It’s going to be a wild ride!”

The tour will feature a number of special guests, including former Grateful Dead members Jeff Chimenti and Oteil Burbridge, as well as other musicians who have been influenced by the band’s music.

“We’re going to have a lot of fun on this tour,” said Mickey Hart. “We’re going to play all the songs that fans love, and we’re going to have a lot of special guests joining us on stage. It’s going to be a real celebration of the Grateful Dead’s music and legacy.”

The tribute tour will include 20 dates across the United States, with stops in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Fans can expect to hear all of the Grateful Dead’s classic songs, including “Truckin’,” “Uncle John’s Band,” and “Dark Star.”
