Allman Brothers Announces the Release Date for Lost Album “Moonlit Shores” After 40 Years

In a revelation that has electrified the music world, the Allman Brothers Band has announced the release date for their long-lost album, *Moonlit Shores*, a collection of unreleased tracks recorded over 40 years ago. The album, believed to have been shelved during the band’s tumultuous early 1980s period, will finally see the light of day on **June 7, 2025**.

*Moonlit Shores* was recorded during an experimental phase in the band’s history, with tracks blending their signature Southern rock style with jazz, blues, and even early forays into funk. The tapes were rediscovered in 2023 by a former studio engineer during an archival project in Macon, Georgia, and painstakingly restored to their original brilliance.

“This album represents a hidden chapter of our story,” said drummer Jaimoe Johanson, one of the founding members. “It’s a snapshot of where we were creatively at the time, pushing boundaries while staying true to the Allman Brothers’ soul.”

The album features original contributions from legendary members **Gregg Allman**, Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks,  and Jaimoe, with standout tracks like the hauntingly beautiful title track, “Moonlit Shores,” and a jam-packed, 12-minute epic titled “Southern Reverie.” Fans will also be treated to vocals and slide guitar magic from Duane Allman, recorded posthumously through archival takes.

To celebrate the release, the Allman Brothers legacy is planning a series of special events, including a listening party at Macon’s historic Big House Museum and a tribute concert featuring surviving members and next-generation musicians, including **Devon Allman and Derek Trucks.

*Moonlit Shores* will be available in various formats, including a limited-edition vinyl with exclusive liner notes detailing the album’s history, as well as a deluxe box set featuring never-before-seen photos and interviews with the band.

After 40 years, *Moonlit Shores* is not just an album; it’s a time capsule of the Allman Brothers Band’s enduring magic, offering fans a fresh glimpse into their timeless genius. Mark your calendars for what promises to be one of the most significant releases in Southern rock history.
