Bruce Springsteen is back in the spotlight with the release of a new single titled “She Don’t Love Me
Now,” part of an upcoming tribute album dedicated to rock musician Jesse Malin. This marks the third
single unveiled from the anticipated album, “Silver Patron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin,” which
features a stellar lineup of various artists and is set to hit the shelves on September 20.
After battling health issues that forced him to cut short his 2023 tour with the E Street Band,
Springsteen has made a triumphant return to the stage, resuming his tour in Phoenix this past March.
With several successful shows across Europe, he recently wrapped up performances at Citizens Bank
Park in Philadelphia and is gearing up for an upcoming concert in Washington, D.C. on September 7.
The tour is scheduled to conclude in Vancouver on November 22.
The tribute album to Jesse Malin holds special significance, especially considering Malin’s health
struggles. Last year, he suffered a rare spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down. As he
works diligently on his recovery through physical therapy and innovative treatments, the tribute album
serves as a heartfelt homage from friends and fellow artists. Springsteen, who collaborated with Malin in
the past, infused “She Don’t Love Me Now” with a soulful twist reminiscent of Stax records, a sound both
he and Malin envisioned when the song was originally recorded for Malin’s 2015 album, “New York
Before The War.”
Malin expressed his admiration for Springsteen’s contribution, noting how it uplifted his spirits during a
challenging time. The collaboration also features members of Malin’s band alongside E Street Band
saxophonist Jake Clemons, creating a powerful blend of musical talent. The album will also showcase
contributions from notable artists such as Billie Joe Armstrong, Elvis Costello, and Lucinda Williams,
with all proceeds benefiting Malin’s Sweet Relief artist fund.
As anticipation builds for both the new single and the upcoming album, fans are left wondering if
Springsteen will make a surprise appearance at Malin’s shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City
this December. With a roster of special guests, these performances promise to be a remarkable
celebration of friendship and music. For now, listeners can enjoy “She Don’t Love Me Now” and look
forward to the full album’s release, further cementing Springsteen’s legacy as an enduring force in the
music industry.
