Announcement: Chicago Bears legendary star is leaving…

OL Ja’Tyre Carter is being waived by the Bears

The Chicago Bears are still working to reduce their roster to 53 players in time for Tuesday’s deadline.

The Bears are waiving offensive tackle Ja’Tyre Carter, who is anticipated to draw interest from other NFL clubs throughout the waiver claim process, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.

After being selected by the Bears in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Carter played reserve guard for Chicago for the previous two seasons. In that time, he has made 13 appearances, including two starts. In Weeks 2 and 3 of the previous season, Carter played all offensive snaps in 10 games, including two starts, as a stand-in for an injured Teven Jenkins, who missed the first four games.

The Bears strengthened their interior offensive line with the acquisitions of Coleman Shelton, Ryan Bates, and Bill Murray, who might be a sneaky selection for the 53-man roster, even though Carter has been a regular on the squad since his rookie season.
