Nicole Lorraine, the couple’s second child, was born on Monday, according to information the NASCAR Hall of Famer revealed on his podcast on Thursday.
According to Earnhardt, there is a familial connection to both names: Amy’s middle name is Nicole, and Dale Jr.’s late mother’s middle name is Lorraine.
Isla Rose, a girl, became the couple’s first child in 2018. After Nicole’s parents brought her home from the hospital, Dale Jr. told a touching tale of how she became closer to her younger sister.
“Nicole is next to the couch, so we bring Isla in and tell her there is a new person in the house. At last, your little sister has arrived. You have been informed about it by us. She leans down as we lead her inside and says, “Aww, she is so cute.” That is what she says out of the blue.
“Nicole was also in this tiny rocking
She is like, ‘Can I rock her?’ as she plays on the bassinet. Yes, but just very lightly, I thought to myself. It was a wonderful moment when she dropped to her knees, rested her chin on the bassinet’s edge, and simply looked at her.”
Earnhardt stated that despite spending all of his attention this week on the addition of his family, he will be in the NBC broadcast booth for the NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Kansas on Sunday.
“It is been an awesome week of bliss and ignorance and living in our own little world,” added Earnhardt. “It is time to resume working on it. Everyone is fantastic, including Nicole and Amy. Everything is well and the adjustment to the household has gone smoothly.”
