Simply Red Uncovers Lost Album ‘Fractured Light’ After 35 Years
London, UK – In a surprise move, British soul and pop legends Simply Red have announced the release of a lost album, titled “Fractured Light”, which was recorded in 1989 but never released.
The album, which features 10 previously unreleased tracks, was recorded during the sessions for their hit album “A New Flame”. However, due to creative differences and label pressures, the album was shelved and never saw the light of day.
“We’re thrilled to finally share this lost album with our fans,” said lead vocalist Mick Hucknall. “These songs are a time capsule of our creative process during that era, and we’re excited for fans to experience them.”
“Fractured Light” is set to be released on February 27, 2025, as a deluxe edition, featuring the original 10 tracks, plus bonus material, including demos, live recordings, and rare photos.
The album will be available on CD, vinyl, and digital formats, and can be pre-ordered now through the band’s official website.
To celebrate the release, Simply Red will perform a special one-off concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 12, 2025, where they will play the entire “Fractured Light” album live, along with other hits from their catalog.
Tickets for the concert go on sale on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10am local time.
