STATUS QUO ANNOUNCES NEW CONCEPT ALBUM “BACK TO THE EDGE” – RELEASE DATE SET FOR OCTOBER 20, 2025
London, UK – Legendary British rock band Status Quo has announced their latest project, a brand-new concept album titled “Back to the Edge”. The album, which explores themes of nostalgia, reflection, and renewal, is set to be released on October 20, 2025.
“Back to the Edge” marks the band’s 34th studio album and their first concept album since 1972’s “Piledriver”. The album features 12 tracks, including the lead single “Riding the Storm”, which will be released on August 25, 2025.
According to Francis Rossi, the album’s concept is deeply personal and reflects the band’s experiences over the years. “We’ve always been a band that’s looked forward, but with ‘Back to the Edge’, we wanted to take a step back and reflect on where we’ve been. It’s a very introspective album, but also a very uplifting one.”
The album was recorded at Francis Rossi’s private studio, with the band working closely with producer Mike Paxman. “We wanted to create an album that would take our fans on a journey,” said Andy Bown. “We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved with ‘Back to the Edge’.”
Status Quo will be supporting the album’s release with a UK tour, set to kick off on November 10, 2025. Tickets will go on sale on September 1, 2025.
