Derby County has officially announced the season-long loan acquisition of Crystal Palace’s history-making midfielder David Ozoh via a statement on the team’s official website.

Three days before to his unveiling, Ozoh passed a medical examination on Monday, July 22, as exclusively revealed by Allnigeriasoccer.com. The Rams beat out Ligue 1 team RC Lens as well as Championship rivals West Brom, Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle, and Luton Town to sign him.

At the age of seventeen years, eight months, and fifteen days, he became the youngest player in Crystal Palace’s Premier League history when he came off the bench against Newcastle United in January 2023.

Nigerian-born Ozoh was born in Valencia and has played in thirteen Premier League games for Palace’s first team since making his historic debut against the Magpies. Those matches included victories over Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal.

In the EFL Trophy, Ozoh has played against teams from the Football League, including Wycombe Wanderers, AFC Wimbledon, Stevenage, Swindon Town, Bristol Rovers, and Plymouth Argyle.

He has five caps for England U18s on the international scene, but if the Nigeria Football Federation approaches him, he would be willing to play for the Super Eagles.
