From his arrival in 2019, Laremy Tunsil has been an integral part of the offensive line for the Houston Texans. Arriving in a blocker-buster with the
Miami Dolphins, he was part of a trade that saw the Texans get two first-round picks, a second-round pick, Julien Davenport, and wide receiver
Kenny Stills in exchange for a fourth-round pick.
Trent Williams of the San Francisco 49ers and Penei Sewell of the Detroit Lions were the only players ranked higher than Tunsil.
During the course of the last five Houston seasons, Tunsil has made four straight Pro Bowls. The top ten offensive lineman in the NFL going into the
2024 season were determined by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN through a survey of NFL executives, coaches, and personnel professionals. As a result,
Tunsil started his sixth season ranked as the third-best tackle in the league.
Tunsil had one of his best seasons to date during the Texans’ successful 2023 campaign, which saw them end with a 10-7 record and advance to the
Divisional Round of the playoffs. Pro Football Focus reports that Tunsil had an 85.4 pass-blocking grade at the end of the season. Tunsil allowed just
five sacks and three quarterback hits in 877 offensive snaps.
In addition, Tunsil played the whole season despite a persistent knee problem. Nevertheless, Tunsil was still able to play 14 games in spite of the
injury.
