BREAKING: Blue Jays are facing a major setback as the team gifted player will be out indefinitely due to…

Manoah hurt himself leaping off the mound after throwing a 91 mph slider in 1.2 scoreless innings. Manoah was visited by Blue Jays manager John Schneider and his training staff. Trevor Richards eventually relieved Manoah and he was removed from the game.
During the game, Manoah told the reporters that he felt “pinchy” after his final pitch.

“I feel…it sucks,” Manoah said, according to MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson. “I have a strong faith in God. I’ve had to deal with a lot of junk over the past year in order to get to this place.

In addition, Manoah acknowledged that he experienced some elbow soreness during his most recent outing on May 24 against the Detroit Tigers, but he insisted that the problem did not persist when he tested himself in a bullpen session that followed.

It’s unsettling to see any pitcher go off due to an elbow injury, but Manoah might be particularly hurt.

Manoah’s output collapsed in 2023 following a successful rookie season in 2021 and a third-place finish in the AL Cy Young voting in 2022. Towards the end of the season, he received injections in his throwing shoulder after being demoted to the minor leagues.

To restore his form and improve his mechanics in 2024, Manoah has to finish both a minor league rehab assignment and an extended Spring Training program. And despite it all, he remained outrageously inconsistent.

Between 2023 and 2024, Manoah made seven minor league starts and finished 0-3 with a 10.21 ERA.

In his 4.0 innings against the Washington Nationals on May 5, Manoah let up six earned runs. That same day, he was eventually called up to the majors for his season debut. He allowed six runs on May 24, four of which were earned.

However, Manoah turned in consecutive starts of 7.0 scoreless innings in the interval. Before getting hurt on Wednesday, he appeared to be on track for a performance along these lines.
