Braves Manager Brian Snitker Punished By Foul Ball To The Junk
Baseball coaching is not a job for the weak of heart.
Just ask Brian Snitker, the manager of the Atlanta Braves, who in the fifth inning took a fast ball to the crotch and
had to fight back tears while remaining composed.
On Wednesday night, Atlanta hosted the San Francisco Giants, which resulted in the regrettable scene. A foul ball
that was tipped towards the Braves’ dugout during an at-bat by Ozzie Albies at the bottom of the inning hurtled
towards Snitker. Snitker took the shot to the sack before he could avoid the foul ball, and the sound of the hit
reverberated around Truist Park.
Snitker grinned at Albies, who was glancing towards the dugout, hoping for a nod from the captain after Snitker had
almost broken his manhood.
Luckily, the manager was able to distance himself from the interaction. The commentators did a good job of making
fun of Snitker for handling the wayward ball like a man and carrying it to the bag.
It rang off on the broadcast: “Oh no, not on the stomach. That’s not your typical belly. beneath the belt fastener. Is a
manager donning a cup?
Viewers responded to the video of Snitker’s nut tap on X.
Baseball’s below-the-belt hits have been plenty this year.
Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel missed time earlier in the season due to a “testicular contusion” that resulted
from a foul ball punishing his junk.
“Where were you when Brian Snitker got hit in the business and turned the season around,” a fan said.
Another fan said, “This is hard to watch.”
For Atlanta supporters, the Braves’ season has been a bit of a pain ever since Ronald Acuna, Jr. was traded. After a
close early-season struggle with the MLB-best Phillies, the team has fallen to nine games behind the division lead in
the NL East. Atlanta will require steely nerves to defeat their injury-riddled season.
