Celtic hero reportedly set to be sacked already
Celtic has had a lot of success lately, with the exception of the 2020–21 season, where they were trophy-less. It
appeared that the Hoops had lagged behind the Rangers and that it would take them one or two seasons to regain
their competitiveness. Thankfully, they didn’t, and they regained the league the next year.
Over the years, Neil Lennon has played a significant role in several of Celtic’s victories. In addition, he found himself
under pressure as manager for the 2020–21 campaign.
Since then, Lennon’s career as a manager has been declining. Having left Celtic, he became a member of Omonia
Nicosia. He was given a promotion shortly after receiving a trophy in Cypriot, where he had worked for just over
seven months.
After that, Lennon stepped away from management for a considerable amount of time until joining Rapid Bucharest
this summer. It appears, though, that his days at the Romanian club may well be coming to an end.
Celtic star is allegedly about to lose his job.
Digi Sport has stated that Lennon will be let go from Rapid. On Monday night, it was decided to replace him as
manager, and the news will be released shortly.
This follows Rapid’s underwhelming season opening performance. Thus far this season, they have lost all six of their
games. The team has one loss and five draws. Needless to say, that has put them in a difficult situation.
Of course, one could counter that changing managers is far too soon. However, many clubs these days opt to make
snap decisions.
It would be intriguing to watch what would happen to Lennon in the future if he was to be fired by Rapid. After his
difficulties, it is difficult to think that he will land another high-level position very soon.
