Dale Earnhardt Jr. hasn’t been shy about his disapproval of potential changes to the NASCAR broadcast
setup for 2025. The CW, which will take over as the new broadcaster for the Xfinity Series in 2025, is
reportedly considering changing its broadcasting strategy, which could involve calling Xfinity Series
races remotely from NASCAR Studios in North Carolina. Earnhardt responded to a report shared by
Sports Business Journal on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with a pointed remark, “I
hope they don’t.” Talks between The CW and pertinent stakeholders are still ongoing; there hasn’t been a
decision regarding how the races will be broadcast. Dennis Miller, President of The CW, said
A major advancement in their sports programming strategy was the Xfinity Series. When the
relationship was announced, he gave the following explanation:
We would like to express our gratitude to the league and NBC Sports for allowing The CW to be the new
broadcast home of the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. We are also grateful for the early opportunity to
present these exciting final eight Xfinity Series races of the season. “We can’t wait to give racing fans an
early preview of all the exciting action the NASCAR Xfinity Series has to offer on The CW and we look
forward to establishing the network as a new destination for live motorsports,” said Brian Herbst, Senior
Vice President of NASCAR.
We would like to thank the league and NBC Sports for granting The CW the right to broadcast the
NASCAR Xfinity Series starting in 2025. We also appreciate the early chance to share these thrilling
season-ending eight Xfinity Series events with you. “We can’t wait to give racing fans an early preview of
all the exciting action the NASCAR Xfinity Series has to offer on The CW and we look forward to
establishing the network as a new destination for live motorsports,” Brian Herbst, Senior Vice President
of NASCAR, stated.
“We are delighted to have TNT Sports return to NASCAR at this exciting time. Being a member of their
team and seeing them return to the sport brings back fond memories of watching the races on TNT in
the past. I’m excited to be a part of their team and to collaborate with Bleacher Report on producing
entertaining content for our audience.”
