BREAKING: Florida Gators’ outstanding point guard agreed to a two-way contract with the Miami Heat after the 2024 NBA Draft…

After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Florida Gators point guard Zyon Pullin agreed to a two-way contract with the Miami Heat. Pullin’s stellar college record attracted the Heat’s notice, and they added him to their developmental system.

A standout single season at the University of Florida, where he averaged 15.4 points, 4.9 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game, set a new single-season record for the best assist-to-turnover ratio by any SEC player since 2000 and secured Pullin’s place on the 2024 Coaches First-Team All-SEC, as well as a place in the Florida record books.

Though most renowned for his ability to set plays, Pullin also showed a steady shooting touch. Throughout the season, he made 78 attempts at three points, connecting on 44.9% of them.

Pullin, who became one of only three players in school history to record 500 points in a single season, added 512 points to an offensive effort that was historically successful for Florida. Pullin collaborated with Tyrese Samuel and Walter Clayton Jr. to form one of the most effective attacking teams in Gators history.

Pullin developed his talents at UC Riverside, where he was recognised as an All-Big West player three times, prior to his tenure in Gainesville. He scored 1,312 points in 109 games over the course of four seasons, demonstrating his reliability and longevity at the collegiate level.

In terms of Pullin’s future professional career, RotoWire analysts on NBA.com predict that he will be a low-flip, team-first backup point guard along the lines of Tyus Jones or Monte Morris. His outstanding passing, improved shooting, and ball security are highlighted as his main advantages. They do, however, also point out areas for development, such as his number of three-pointers and his ability to finish at the rim when against NBA-caliber opponents.

Pullin will look to build on his collegiate achievements and advance his career when he joins the Miami Heat in the professional levels. Although it is a difficult journey from undrafted free agent to NBA regular, Pullin’s basketball IQ and improvement history indicate he has what it takes to succeed at the next level.
