Georgia Tech has bolstered its defensive line by acquiring Jordan van den Berg, a defensive tackle from Penn State. Announced on social media, van den Berg joins fellow transfer Ayo Tifase from Florida State, bringing valuable experience and size to the Yellow Jackets’ front seven.
At 6’3″ and 310 lbs, van den Berg will compete for immediate playing time under new defensive line coach Jess Simpson. Last season, he played in 11 games, recording 11 tackles, a fumble recovery, and a quarterback hurry.
Georgia Tech’s defense, which struggled against the run last year, is looking to improve, and van den Berg’s addition is a significant step in that direction. He has two years of eligibility remaining, providing the Yellow Jackets with both depth and potential for future seasons.
