Breaking: He will become the highest paid player in the roster once the Minnesota Vikings agreed to….

Christian Darrisaw will reportedly receive a mega-extension from the Vikings on one condition.

Rookie Christian Darrisaw Ready for Any Role After Debut at Left Tackle

There’s no denying that the Minnesota Vikings are a team in transition.

since of right now, head coach Kevin O’Connell must rely on journeyman Sam Darnold to lead an offense that is hardly short on weapons, since quarterback Kirk Cousins, a four-time Pro Bowler, is now an Atlanta Falcon.
On the offensive end, tackles Brian O’Neill and Christian Darrisaw form a strong barrier that provides protection.

The management’s current goal is to secure one of these important parts for the far future in order to maintain continuity down the line.

According to Charley Waters of The Purple Persuasion, Minnesota is prepared to extend Darrisaw’s contract by a large amount, but there is a catch.

He needs to stay well.

The team showed its dedication to Darrisaw by picking up his rookie contract’s fifth-year option in late April.

His stay in Minnesota was thus prolonged until at least 2025.

Darrisaw, who played collegiate football at Virginia Tech, was selected by the team with the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft.
Considering that he has started 39 of his 41 games with the Vikings, it is intriguing that the team is requiring him to maintain good health in order to potentially grant him a lucrative deal.

Moreover, Darrisaw began each of the 15 games he participated in in the 2023 season.

He did sustain an ankle and groin injury last year, and he did miss two games towards the end of the 2022 season due to a concussion.

Additionally, groin and ankle issues cost four games.

during his first season.

However, Darrisaw is a highly valued tackle, and in the NFL, tackles are valuable positions.

If he stays healthy, the Vikings obviously want to retain his services in the future.
