Breaking: Key Changes has been made in Florida State’s football Offensive Line..

As college football season wraps up, coaching changes are in full swing, particularly at Marshall University. On Sunday, the Marshall Thundering Herd announced the termination of several coaches, including offensive coordinator Clint Trickett. This decision was confirmed by head coach Charles Huff and reflects the team’s struggle to secure favorable results.

Clint Trickett’s departure marks the end of his two-year tenure as both offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, having joined the program in 2021. Initially hired as the wide receivers coach, he faced challenges in elevating the team’s offensive performance. Throughout the regular season, Marshall ranked 87th in total offense, averaging just 357.8 yards per game. The team also grappled with turnovers, recording 17 interceptions and 11 lost fumbles, alongside giving up 30 sacks.

Despite starting strong, the Thundering Herd faced a rough patch, suffering a five-game losing streak. In the last eight games, they struggled to score, with four matches yielding fewer than ten points, culminating in a 28-0 loss to South Alabama.

Trickett, however, is likely to find another coaching opportunity soon. His coaching career has included roles at East Mississippi Community College and Florida Atlantic, where he coached tight ends and quarterbacks under prominent head coaches like Lane Kiffin and Willie Taggart.

A former Florida State standout, Trickett initially signed with the Seminoles in 2010 after a stellar high school career. Though primarily a backup, he stepped in during crucial moments due to injuries to starting quarterback EJ Manuel. After three seasons at Florida State, he transferred to West Virginia, where he continued to develop his skills.
