Max Verstappen shuts down Red Bull exit rumours
Max Verstappen has firmly denied rumors regarding a possible departure from Red Bull Racing, reiterating his commitment to the team through his contract, which lasts until the end of the 2028 Formula 1 season. Speculation about his future has been fueled by various off-track issues at Red Bull, including challenges with team principal Christian Horner and concerns related to the RB20 car’s performance and delays with the new power unit planned for 2026.
Verstappen clarified that while he hasn’t personally spoken to any other teams, including Mercedes, his manager may have had discussions. When asked about these conversations, he stated, “No, for me the situation has never changed since I signed my contract.” He expressed his intention to remain with Red Bull for the duration of his contract and hopes to retire with the team, saying, “That’s clearly the intention… I’ve signed a long-term contract with the team, and in a perfect world, I’ll finish there.”
