SIMPLE MINDS UNRELEASED EPIC SINGLE ‘LOST IN THE HAZE’ RESURFACES AFTER 39 YEARS

Glasgow, Scotland – In a shocking discovery, a previously unreleased single by the iconic Scottish rock band Simple Minds has resurfaced after 39 years. The epic track, titled ‘Lost in the Haze’, was recorded in 1984 during the sessions for their breakthrough album ‘Sparkle in the Rain’.

According to Jim Kerr, Simple Minds’ lead vocalist, ‘Lost in the Haze’ was intended to be a single release, but it was ultimately shelved due to the band’s busy touring schedule and the success of their other singles at the time.

‘Lost in the Haze’ is a sprawling, 7-minute track that features the band’s signature blend of post-punk and new wave influences, with a sweeping chorus and a haunting guitar riff. The song’s lyrics explore themes of disorientation and confusion, with Kerr’s poetic vocals painting a vivid picture of a world in chaos.

The song’s rediscovery is a result of a thorough excavation of the band’s archives, which yielded a treasure trove of unreleased material, including demos, live recordings, and alternate versions of familiar tracks.

‘Lost in the Haze’ will be released as a limited-edition single on March 20, 2025, with a special bonus track, ‘Echoes in the Night’, which was recorded during the same sessions. The single will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats, and will include a beautifully designed sleeve featuring rare photos and liner notes from Jim Kerr.
