Olaf Kobacki: Jest niedosyt, nie cieszymy się z tego remisu

Olaf Kobacki, a 22-year-old player from Polish second-division team Arka Gdynia, is supposedly being pursued by Derby County and fellow Championship team Norwich City.

The winger’s departure from his present team appears certain, as Arka Gdynia must meet regulatory requirements through sales. According to reports, the club is willing to let go of Olaf Kobacki and Karol Czubak after they had successful funded campaigns.

According to Interia Sport, Kobacki is drawing attention from the EFL, with initial bids from Derby County and Norwich City. But given the relative caliber of the leagues, it is unlikely that the player will be granted a work permit out of the blue, therefore the clubs might need to initiate an Elite Significant Contribution.

The plan was introduced in after Brexit to assist teams in signing players who didn’t fit the GBE requirements. Called the “football visa,” the club must prove the player is an extraordinary talent in order to be allowed access.

Last season, Kobacki made 37 appearances in all competitions, helping his team to third place in the standings with 16 goals and 7 assists.

A solid addition for Derby County?

It was anticipated that Derby will try to access talent that might be more affordable in Europe and new markets than that of its English competitors.

This illustrates the creative hiring that can be accomplished by extending your net a little bit farther. Kobacki, who is still only 22 years old, recently finished a strong season in a league with strong competition. In addition, the team must raise money, therefore he might be offered for less than he would if they were trying to hang onto the winger.
Furthermore, he is still a young man, so if he develops properly, he might end up being a great asset in the future with a lot of sell-on potential, particularly  should he be able to repeat his EFL accomplishments.
