The reunion comes as a surprise to fans, as the band had been on hiatus since Tom Petty’s passing in 2017. However, according to sources close to the band, the remaining members, including Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, and Steve Ferrone, have been working on new music and have decided to come together for this special event.

“We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be reuniting for this incredible charity concert,” said Mike Campbell in a statement. “We’ve been working on some new music, and we can’t wait to share it with the world. This concert is going to be a celebration of Tom’s life and legacy, and we’re honored to be a part of it.”

The concert will benefit several charitable organizations, including the Tom Petty Foundation, which was established by the late singer-songwriter to support music education and arts programs for underprivileged children.

As for the never-before-heard music, the band has hinted that they will be releasing a new album featuring unreleased tracks and demos that Tom Petty had been working on before his passing.

“We’ve been going through Tom’s archives, and we’ve found some incredible material that we think the fans are going to love,” said Benmont Tench. “We’re excited to share this new music with the world, and we think it’s going to be a real treat for the fans.”

The concert will be streamed live globally, and fans will be able to purchase tickets and exclusive merchandise to support the charitable cause.
