Each of the three teams is preparing for a Championship campaign. The last time around, Burnley was relegated because they were unable to adjust to the Premier League’s expectations. They are still without a manager as a result of Bayern Munich signing Vincent Kompany.
Last season, Coventry City made it to the FA Cup semifinal, but a dismal finish to the regular season caused them to drop out of the top six. Preston North End experienced a comparable outcome. Their five consecutive losses caused them to finish 10 points outside of the playoffs.
The previous season, Camara, 21, was in the top level of Belgium. In his 31 games with RWD Molenbeek, he assisted on seven goals and scored three in all competitions.
The adaptable full back has drawn attention with his outstanding performances and his ability to play higher up on the flank. Initially, the Lilywhites and Sky Blues were identified as the sides keeping an eye on him.
But according to a recent rumour by Belgian reporter Tavolieri, Burnley and Ligue 1 team Stade de Reims are also considering a summer transfer for the young player.
An intense race
Reims now have a competitive football advantage that none of the three Championship teams can match.
Although they flirted with European berths last season, the French club finished in the middle of the table, and it might be enough to entice Camara this summer.
Although Preston North End and Coventry City may also be vying for a spot in the top six, Burnley is currently the team most likely to advance. Burnley may be able to entice the 21-year-old with the promise of an early return to the Premier League this season.
The transfer window is still early, but as the weeks go by, this is one to definitely keep an eye on.
