Bears send a 2025 6th-Round pick to land the Seahawks pass-rusher.
Ryan Poles has strengthened the Chicago Bears defensive line, less than a day after head coach Matt Eberflus voiced concerns about the group’s depth. The Seattle Seahawks traded a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Bears in exchange for DE Darrell Taylor.
It’s been quite evident since the Bears pursued veteran pass-rusher Matthew Judon that they needed defensive line support. Haason Reddick and Yannick Ngakoue are two well-liked choices to bookend the queue across from Montez Sweat. Despite having a less well-known name, Taylor has had success as a professional since joining the Seahawks as a second-round selection in 2020.
The former Tennessee Volunteer was able to record five starts on 522 snaps with 5.5 sacks, 7 TFL, and 8 QB hits in his most recent year. Taylor has a contract that pays a base salary of $3.1 million through the 2024–2025 season. Taylor is only 27 years old, so maybe the Bears see him contributing after 2024 in a rotation that also includes rookie Austin Booker and Sweat.
