According to Yahoo Sports’ Dan Devine, Joe’s contract was one of seven “under-the-radar” deals
negotiated during free agency that “could be sneaky good.”
This summer, Oklahoma City signed a few free agents, but he wasn’t the most expensive one. In fact, he’s
not even the most expensive Isaiah player the Thunder have signed this month. Yet, Devine wrote,
“keeping Joe on what appears to be a sweetheart of a deal—one that features a team option for Year 4
and descends in annual salary.”
K.J. Martin, a forward, has signed a new two-year, $16 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, a
source told The Associated Press on Friday.
Martin was obtained from the Clippers in the November trade that included James Harden. His decision
to join the 76ers is a major step forward for the organization, which hopes to stabilize its lineup after
President Daryl Morey arranged a number of calculated deals.
These actions were intended to free up salary cap space and roster composition, paving the way for
significant free agency additions.

Recently, the 76ers have been busy in the summer, bringing in six-time All-Star Kyle Lowry for a one-
year contract.
This bold strategy highlights the team’s desire to challenge for a title, especially in light of Paul George’s
addition from the Clippers in free agency, who signed a big four-year, $212 million contract.
Alongside Joel Embiid, youthful talent like Tyrese Maxey further strengthened the team’s competitive
edge by agreeing to a five-year, $204 million agreement.
