DONE DEAL: Derby County set to announce another deal as the outstanding player prepares for a medical…

The Rams have been quite busy during the little over three-week transfer window as Paul Warne attempts to boost his team in anticipation of a difficult fight for survival in the Championship after the team was promoted from League One last season.

Ben Osborn, a skilled midfielder whose Sheffield United contract expired, has already joined Warne’s squad. Jerry Yates was brought in from Swansea City on loan, Kayden Jackson was acquired on a free transfer, and Corey Blackett-Taylor’s contract was made permanent after he joined from Charlton Athletic back in January.

Another name that has been linked with a move to Pride Park over the past 24 hours is AZ Alkmaar’s 22-year-old midfielder Goudmijn. This was initially reported by Dutch outlet AZ Alerts who claimed that a move to the newly-promoted Championship side will come to fruition pending the player’s medical. Additionally, the same publication reported at midnight last night that Goudmijn will undergo his medical examination today and that Excelsior Rotterdam will receive part of the fee for the player after his two previous loan stints at the club.

Over the past 24 hours, Goudmijn, a 22-year-old midfielder for AZ Alkmaar, has also been linked to a move to Pride Park. The player’s medical clearance is still required before a move to the recently promoted Championship team is finalised, according to the original story from Dutch publication AZ Alerts. Furthermore, the same source announced around midnight yesterday night that Goudmijn will have his medical test today and that, following his two prior loan stays at the club, Excelsior Rotterdam will earn a portion of the player’s transfer cost.

Journalist Ian Baker supports this allegation by revealing that Derby will pay a £600,000 fee for the AZ academy product, despite the fact that Transfermarkt values him at £1.5 million.
