Jonathan Rowe, 21, has officially joined Olympique de Marseille on a loan with an option to buy for an undisclosed sum that is rumoured to be roughly €15 million with add-ons. Rowe was formerly with Norwich City.
The club had made the left winger a top target in an attempt to strengthen their striking lineup and give Luis Henrique (22) some much-needed competition on the left side of the attack. Rowe had a breakthrough season with his development team last season, making 32 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists as Norwich just missed out on a Premier League return.
The most recent English player to sign for Marseille is Jonathan Rowe.
Marseille has been busy this summer reshaping their squad, which has resulted in the French team depending a lot on the English market. Along with Ismaël Koné (22), Mason Greenwood (22), and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (29), Rowe comes from a Premier League or Championship team.
