Good news: Los Angeles Chargers has found a perfect solution for QB positon..

Atlanta Falcons have perfect trade target to fix Los Angeles Chargers’ latest issue

The Los Angeles Chargers will work through the remainder of training camp as though it is business as

usual. However, the story that will follow the team until the regular season starts is the injury that star

quarterback Justin Herbert is dealing with.

He will miss the entire preseason and the hope is that he will be ready to take the field in Week 1. Jim

Harbaugh does not seem like the kind of guy who wants to bank on a hope and he certainly didn’t leave

one of the best programs in college football to watch Easton Stick taking any more snaps than he needs

to.

No disrespect to Stick, but there are better options out there for this team and the Chargers need to
explore those.  to investigate those.

Chargers need a better backup QB, at the very least

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter has noted twice, including here, the team may have to deal with this

predicament for the whole of the season. Herbert may be out there, but the injury still needs to be

treated and closely watched.

This is not a perfect scenario, nor is it one that should be quickly dismissed in favor of a more measured

approach. Because of this, additional choices need to be taken into account. Many of these have already

been discussed, including the most obvious one—Tyler Huntley, the quarterback for the Cleveland

Browns at the moment.

Stick has played for the team for five seasons, so he is not a bad alternative, but there are other options.

Currently, one of those is listed on the roster of The Atlanta Falcons.

After the Atlanta Falcons signed Kirk Cousins this summer and selected Michael Penix Jr., Taylor

Heinicke is currently the third option on the roster, and that is as high as he will go. At the conclusion of

training camp, he will be released and become a free agent if the Falcons do not retain three

quarterbacks.

Heinicke makes a lot of sense for the Chargers. He is among the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL

and has a ton of NFL experience. He can hold down the fort considerably better than Stick until Herbert

returns to full strength because he is superior to Stick in almost every aspect of the game.

He could probably be acquired by the Chargers for almost nothing. Sixth or seventh round selections

ought to The Atlanta Falcons.
