At training camp, the Washington Commanders’ campaign preparations for 2024 are picking up steam.
Dan Quinn is happy with his players’ early performances. As we strive to make the most of this
momentous new age, there is a discernible uptick in vigor and unity.
That may take some time, but it is possible that developments will move more quickly than most
analysts predict. Before Week 1 at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this depends on everyone pulling together
as a cohesive team and some good fortune on the health front.
The level of competition is rising daily. Quinn and his team are still working on their schematic tactics,
and players typically need some time to figure out football after the summer vacation. However, based
on early observations, there is nothing to suggest the Commanders can not become more competitive in
2024.

It is tough to be an undrafted free agent. To join the team, they will have to battle their way up from the
bottom, and even then it might not be enough. Given that the Washington Commanders selected Jayden
Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and acquired veteran Marcus Mariota in free
agency, Sam Hartman faces an extra difficult task.
If the Commanders choose to carry that many quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, Hartman hopes to
emerge as the team’s third option. If not, the most likely outcome would be him joining the UFL or
earning a position on the practice squad.
Those in attendance said that the former Wake Forest and Notre Dame player grabbed their attention

pulled in Zaccheaus for one of the game’s standout plays.
It is arguable if this has much of an impact on Hartman. Though he still has a long way to go, his chances
of succeeding will probably depend on how he performs when it comes time to play in the preseason.
