“He was Leeds best” KAA coach says as they finalize a blockbuster deal with a one time leeds speed star.

Transfer news: KAA Gent hijack deal to sign ex-Leeds United forward Max Dean

In order to complete his transfer from League Two team MK Dons to KAA Gent, Max Dean landed in Belgium.

In order to work with former Whites Under 21 manager Mark Jackson, the young player transferred from Leeds United to MK Dons last year.

Although he never played for the first team, he was well-liked at Thorp Arch and some supporters thought he might become a striker on par with the best in the Championship.

The 20-year-old Dean made 31 appearances and scored 16 goals, but the Dons were defeated 8-1 on aggregate in the League Two play-off semifinal in May.

According to reports earlier this week, the hotshot and Charlie Cresswell could be joining up in Toulouse for another reunion with Leeds United.

The League Two team and the French club allegedly agreed on a price at the second attempt to negotiate, but Gent was constantly in the background and prepared to submit a competing offer.

On Thursday night, new reports surfaced indicating that the Belgians had made a successful raid. After undergoing a medical examination, Dean got to know his new colleagues and coaching staff.

The Whites are said to have a healthy sell-on clause, so those at Elland Road may be interested in the transaction, which is expected to be confirmed on Friday.

It is understood that Leeds could be entitled to fifty percent of the total cost, which is estimated to be close to £1 million.

Although the duration of Max Dean’s new deal is unknown, you would anticipate Gent to tie him down to a minimum four-year long contract.

Gent’s visit to Kortrijk on July 28 marks the start of the Jupiler League, which begins on Friday, July 26.
